After a four year investigation by federal law enforcement, 25 people are facing charges related to marijuana trafficking and conspiracy. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom's office said, "Multiple arrests are being made in Johnson and Douglas counties today in connection with federal drug charges." Apparently, more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana was involved.. The Drug Enforcement Administration, a.k.a. DEA is likely celebrating a huge victory for themselves. Apparently, involved in the conspiracy are Mexican nationals, Kansas City residents, Johnson County residents, and Lawrence, KS residents. Arrests were made last night. Ultimate Tan of Lawrence, KS was closed yesterday evening and it is alleged that it was a front to launder money received from drug proceeds.
