Kansas law enforcement showed off their newly purchased DUI trailer at their annual "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit Arrest" event. Kansas Law Enforcement had an increased focus on drunk driving arrests through the Labor Day weekend. During this focus, they brought the trailer with them, which assisted police officers and sheriff's deputies at DUI checkpoints, check lanes, and patrol spots. The trailer will continue to assist officers involved in DUI investigations and arrests. Kansas now has two such trailers. The Kansas Department of Transportation recently received a grant of almost $30,000, which paid for the new DUI trailer, two new generators, and various safety equipment.
The DUI trailer will likely test breath, but fail to utilize the more reliable blood draws. Although, it will surely be equiped with Blood Alcohol Kits to be able to take blood tests and then hip them off to the KBI.
