Celebrity Issued DUI For Listening To CD
Orlando Brown, the star of "That's so Raven," was issued a DUI on August 12, 2011. However, he claims that he was not even driving! Brown's manager, Reno Rankin, claims that Orlando Brown may have been drinking, but that he was not driving. Rather, he was at home drinking wine. Apparently, a friend came over to his house to listen to his new CD. Brown then got into the car and put the CD in to play it for his friend. Unfortunately, the cops allege that the parked vehicle didn't have a license plate, so and they stopped to investigate the situation. During this "investigation," they observed that Orlando was in the driver's seat of the vehicle, and had been drinking. So, the arrested him for driving under the influence. Despite his reps insistence that Orlando, "never intended to drive anywhere at all" Orlando was issued a DUI. However, some reports says that he was pulled over for actually driving through the neighborhood without tags. However, they questioned him in front of his home. I would want to see the actual police reports and patrol video before I could make a sound legal argument over this. In the event he was driving...really?!? You would think that if you are going to drive after drinking, that you would at least try to follow basic laws, like having a tag, in order to avoid being pulled over and issued a DUI. To make it worse, he was allegedly driving with his pregnant girlfriend in the passenger's seat. In the event he was only listening to a CD, he may have a great argument at trial if charges aren't dismissed.
