CDC Reports Drunk Driving Down

As reported earlier, the CDC, (Centers for Disease Control), reported to the Federal government that drunk driving incidents in the United States are significantly declining. The CDC says that drunk driving claims is at the lowest point in nearly twenty years. The decline is an estimated 30 percent for 2010, with the number of cases totaling 112 million.

The research focused on a national telephone survey of nearly a quarter million people over 21. 20% stated that they had driven under the influence during the preceding month. 2% of the population had driven drunk at least once.

Economic concerns is a possible reason the study cited for the downturn in drunk driving cases. However, others argue that the people may have simply lied in the phone interview.
