13 People Charged With DUI during 5 Hour KC Sobriety Checkpoint This Weekend

Thirteen people were charged with DUI in the early mornings hours of October 29, 2011, from an overnight drunk driving check point in Kansas City, Kansas. Police stopped 544 drivers in the southbound lanes at the DUI checkpoint, at the 4000 block of Main Street. The DUI sobriety check point ran for 5 hours, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. More than likely, all these DUI charges came after a chemical test failure on the Intoxilyzer 8000. Unfortunatley, the officers probably didn't utilize the more reliable blood test.

In addition to the 13 DUI people charged with DUI, five drivers were cited for hazardous moving violations, five for other miscellaneous traffic violations, one for not wearing a seat belt and two for marijuana possession.
