Not Above the Law

Not Above the Law

The Mayor of Highwood was arrested over the weekend for drunk driving. Charles Pecaro was cited for DUI by the police in Highland Park on September 4, 2011.

Pecaro's vehicle was pulled over at 1:05 a.m. because he allegedly had neither his headlights nor his taillights on. Additionally, he was allegedly was following too closely to another vehicle on the roadway. This is according to Highland Park Deputy Chief David Schwarz.

Pecaro was released at 3:20 a.m. Sunday on a recognizance bond. Pecaro has a September 23, 2011 court date in Waukegan.

Neither the city council nor the mayor has commented on the allegations of driving under the influence.
