Young Man Dies After Kansas City Police Chase

Early this morning, in Kansas City, Kansas, a young man in his 20's died. Police observed him driving erratically, so they attempted to pull him over. However, the young man sped away, leading to a police chase. The police eventually were able to lay down spike strips in an attempt to stop the vehicle. That was when the young man swerved to avoid the strips and that is when he lost control. The vehicle he was driving, a white Pontiac, hit a gas meter and the side of a building. The wreck occurred at Central and Coy in KC, KS, where he was ejected from his car. As of now, the police have not released the name of the deceased, as they want to inform the family first. Also, no information has been released yet whether he was driving drunk, there was alcohol involved, or if they were investigating a potential DUI.
